My first favorites! For me, January was all about streamlining my makeup routine. I finally got myself back to the gym, which is a big accomplishment for me. But on a lot of days, that means that I have to go straight to work. I didn't want lug around a ton of make-up, so I decided it was time to find items that I could definitely depend on. A lot of these are travel-friendly products that don't take up too much room. No fuss beauty.
Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint: This is Nars' latest base product. 'Skin tint' is not exactly what I would call this product. The coverage is somewhere between a BB cream and an actual foundation. It is easily blend-able (I use my fingers) and leaves a beautiful matte (but not flat) finish to the skin. The SPF 30 sun protection is an added bonus, making it a great multi-tasker. I'm in the shade 'Groenland'. For reference, I wear 'Ceylan' or 'Punjab' (depending on the season) in the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in "Very Victoria" : I like having a daytime and nighttime lip option in my makeup bag. This brown-toned nude is one of my favorite 'every day' colors. I love the formula of these matte lipsticks. They leave a velvety smooth finish to your lips, without over-drying. If I want a more fresh-faced look, I'll sheer it out add some moisture with Glossier's balm dot com.
Nars Eyeshadow Duos: I own a few of the Nars eyeshadow duos, but until recently, they had been living in my makeup drawer. I was doing some de-cluttering of my stash, and decided to throw a couple of them in my current makeup case. It was a good call. These duos are very compact and travel friendly, making them perfect candidates for my gym bag. I love that they come with two complimentary shades. At least one shimmery shade for the entire lid, and a shade to blend into the crease and the outer corner. My current favorites are "Isolde", "St. Paul de Vence", "Hammamet" (part of their new Spring collection), and "Kalahari".
Ofra Liquid Lipstick in "Havana Nights" : I have a love/hate relationship with liquid lipsticks. Except for the ones Ofra makes - They're so comfortable and easy to apply! This particular shade is stunning. This is Ofra's 2nd collaboration with YouTuber Kathleen Lights, called "Havana Nights". It's a gorgeous deep Cabernet red, perfect for this time of year. This is normally my evening color, in case I need to look a little more dressed up. One of my favorite things about this lipstick is that it is so versatile - it goes with anything!
Jo Malone "Wood Sage & Sea Salt": Jo Malone recently opened a boutique near my workplace - amazing, but dangerous! I tend to gravitate towards fresh scents rather than musky or sweet scents. This is a very subtle and light scent, reminiscent of a winter day by the ocean. Also, this mini is just so freaking adorable... A little goes a long way too!
Glossier Coconut Balm DotCom: If you've been reading from the beginning, you know that I love all things Glossier. I'm so addicted and obsessed, I keep telling everyone to try it. One of my favorite products is the balm dotcom, which Glossier calls their 'universal skin salve'. I use it on my lips, cuticles, elbows, nose (cold season), etc.. Anyway, they just restocked their coconut-scented version. It smells like a day on the beach. I'm not usually a coconut person, but I can't stop using this salve. Obviously, I bought a couple.. or ...10. When it comes to Glossier, even my back-ups have back-ups. If you want 20% off your first order, you can use this here link!
