New Launch: Haloscope highlighters by Glossier
I am finally back just in time to introduce Glossier's newest launch: Haloscope!
It seems like every day, more and more makeup brands are releasing a highlighting product. As an oily-skin girl, I used to be a little apprehensive about highlighting products. But now that it’s summer, I’m fully jumping on the dewy skin bandwagon. I’ve fully stocked up on blotting sheets and setting sprays. Bring it on.
Haloscope is a 'dew effect’ cream highlighter in stick form. It has a moisture core center filled with skin-loving goodness (coconut oil, castor seed oil, sweet almond oil). The outer ring is made of actual crystals - Rose Quartz (icy pink) and Golden Topaz (golden bronze).
So what stands out about Haloscope? The Vitamin E-rich cocktail feels super nourishing on the skin. When I apply it, I feel like I'm doing something good for my skin in addition to putting on makeup. While so many highlighters boast of a dewy finish, Haloscope actually delivers. Most importantly, it livens up the skin without being glittery. I'm not really into minerals, crystals, or gems, but I do love the quality of the shimmer in the Haloscope highlighters. Somehow, the Glossier Girl Gang has formulated shimmer and wet-looking shine, without chunky particles of glitter. Another thing? It's so damn easy. It is so fool-proof, I don't think you could mess the application up if you tried.
While I love (and will definitely use) both shades of Haloscope, Topaz is definitely the winner in my book. On my light-medium toned skin, it doesn’t look too bronzey or dark. It basically makes my skin look healthy - like I took a week-long beach vacation or something. If you're wondering which shade you should get, here's my two cents: both shades are sheer (but buildable) enough that they'd work on any skin shade.
