Brand Review: Kypris Beauty

Brand Review: Kypris Beauty

Okay. I’m finally writing my review on Kypris Beauty! It has been in the works for quite a while… But I’m finally biting the bullet and sharing my thoughts on one of my favorite skincare brands: Kypris Beauty.

Kypris was started by gorgeous skincare angel, Chase Polan. Don't believe me? Go watch some of her youtube videos. Still not convinced?? Read her statement about the functionality, sustainability, and philosophy behind her brand: "What makes KYPRIS entirely unique is the inextricable alignment of KYPRIS creations with the reconciliation of each of these values. These tools for self care are one way to fulfill the divine desire for a beautiful experience of ourselves without a hint of compromise to our health or integrity. A truly sustainable luxury that creates and offers wellness and an experience of your divinely unique beauty."

I started using Kypris about a year ago (right after my husband and I got engaged). I had heard a lot of great things about the products, and I was so desperate to get a flawless and glowing complexion for my wedding. It was a skincare Hail Mary. So, I decided to give it a go - and I was so glad I did.

Kypris Beauty boasts a pretty impressive resume:

Cruelty-free

Organic

Sustainably

Vegan

Synthetic Fragrance Free

Certified Sustainable

From women-owned farms

No petroleum

The Kypris team was kind enough to send me 4 products from their range (after having told them my main skin concerns). I received one beauty elixir and three serums. The products work most effectively when mixed. Basically, any of the serums can be mixed with any of the beauty elixir oils, creating a micro-emulsion (basically salad dressing). Because the serums are water based, they can reach deeper into your skin than the oils. So when you mix the two, the serum brings the oils deeper into your skin.  This helps you absorb the oils/fatty acids in the beauty elixirs and maximize their potency.

I have tried Kypris for about a year, and feel very confident in my opinions and observations so far. But please keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different! Here are my thoughts:

Beauty Elixir II (Healing Bouquet): This was one of the first oils I fell in love with. As someone with oily-combination (and very hormonal) skin, I was really reluctant to try this one from the beginning. But I was so surprised at how well it soothed my skin. I think the main thing I noticed with this product was just how balanced my skin was. Full of antioxidants, collagen-boosting Vitamin C, fatty acids, CoQ10, etc.. This beauty cocktail helped balance my hormonal skin, lighten hyper pigmentation, soften, and hydrate. I’ve used it alone or with other products - I can’t say enough good things. In fact, I’m on my third bottle. It’s an expensive addiction that I don’t know how to break.

Antioxidant Dew: JLo-Glow in a bottle! I mix this serum with my Beauty Elixir II as a part of my morning skincare. It's full of antioxidants which helps ward of free-radicals (bye cellular damage) and also some soothing botanicals as well. This is an absolute savior in the wintertime. Even when my skin was the most irritated or dry, using Antioxidant Dew + Beauty Elixir II made my skin look radiant and well-rested.

Moonlight Catalyst: This serum is my favorite of the three. I have seen a few dermatologists over the years, and they almost always prescribe retinol products. While they would help diminish some acne issues, I couldn’t handle the irritation, dryness, and burning that came with it. Moonlight Catalyst is a great natural option for retinol. It helps speed up cell turnover, making sure that less of gunk gets trapped in your skin. Pumpkin enzymes help to gently exfoliate your skin, to renew your complexion overnight. As the name suggests, Moonlight Catalyst is to be used during your nighttime routine. I mix this with Beauty Elixir II and wake up to considerably clearer and more even skin. I have also noticed that I break out less when I use this serum consistently.

Clearing Serum: This is the serum I reached for the least, but not for any bad reasons. I actually felt like the Beauty Elixir II + Moonlight Catalyst did such a great job of balancing my skin and preventing a lot of my normal breakouts. So much so… that I didn’t really even think of needing to use the Clearing Serum to spot-treat. When I did reach for it, it was normally because I had a bad reaction to another makeup or skincare product and needed its calming and soothing properties (thanks, zinc!)

All in all, I am more than impressed with Kypris Beauty. I can truthfully say that Kypris created a turning point in my skincare journey. While I still have skincare goals (further treating hyper pigmentation, calming redness, and now, anti-aging...), Kypris helped me overcome some of the more challenging skincare battles of my early-mid twenties. Every few months, they come out with more and more innovative and beautiful products. I can’t wait to get my hands on both masks, cleanser, and SPF! In case you couldn't already tell, this is one of the few brands that really gets me excited. Kypris helped me achieve the smooth, glowing, texture-free skin I wanted for my wedding. And for that, I’m so thankful.
